Because if I keep looking at these images, I’m going to buy every single piece in them. The new collection for spring is romantic, dreamy, mysterious, carefree and casual. I’m obsessed with the way they’ve combined textures and materials, masculine with feminine silhouette, and of course, the Free People touch of that extra embroidery or swatch of lace that makes the piece oh-so unique and gypsy-like is seen at its best here. And to top it off, the catalog was shot in Amsterdam, a recent visit and new favorite of mine. Although the city does not appear much, I love how its ever-present bicycles are incorporated into the shoot, and even more so I enjoy the different models for almost every outfit — unusual for FP. According to their blog, they invited Amsterdam natives into their scenes alongside the models — if only I had been there at the right time! What fun! At the end of the day, though, I can’t believe the spring fashion season is actually upon us! (Especially as I just purchased a newer, warmer-yet sweater today, and mostly stayed bundled up indoors.) I did notice this evening how the days are indisputably getting longer, but it’s wishful thinking that the weather will get warmer anytime soon. Until then, I’ll be in my new Free People catalog — a refreshing daydream from winter’s reality.
